Yarnfiti Community Art Project
"It’s graffiti, but with yarn. Yarnfiti encourages creativity, teaches sewing skills at this Florida library." - courtesy of clickorlando.com
Yarnfiti is an annual community-created art installation that started in 2017 to bring crochet and knit artists together on a collaborative art project. The name is a combination of the words “yarn” and “graffiti” because the display is meant to be a colorful explosion of yarn in an unexpected place. This year, in addition to knitting and crochet, contributors were invited to submit projects from a variety of crafts including, sewing, embroidery, weaving and more. The display is intended to inspire more of our community to discover a new craft at their library.
The Enchanted Forest is travelling to select locations throughout the county through December.

A Thank You To Our Contributors
It takes a village to bring a forest to life. Between April and August 2024, over 90 events took place across Orange County Library system that encouraged participants to add their own bit of magic. More than 230 pieces from 60 contributors were brought together to create the installation. Stay tuned for more information on next year's event and all the opportunities to make something together!
