Sign Up for a Library Card Account

While the library is closed, you may encounter issues requesting a library card account.

Visit us in person at any OCLS location or sign up online to get a library card account.

In-person registration will require an appropriate ID to show proof of address. A photo will also be taken and added to your account for additional verification. Learn more about why we take your photo for your library card account.

Orange County Resident Card Accounts

Orange County, Florida residents are eligible to check out books, movies, e-books, and more with an Orange County resident card account. A free home delivery service is included for those in the library service area.

Maitland and Winter Park residents will receive an Orange County reciprocal borrower card account. This account allows access to check out materials from the shelf at any OCLS location. This does not include access to e-books, databases, public computers, home delivery, or the ability to place holds on items. For access to these services (excluding home delivery), consider purchasing a fee card account.

Fee Card Account

Fee card accounts are available to anyone residing outside our service area. Fee card accounts provide the same service as Orange County resident cards, except for home delivery. Fee cardholders may place holds and pick up materials at an OCLS location.

Fee card accounts are non-refundable and are available for 3 months ($75) or for 1 year ($125).

Property Owner Card Account

Property owner card accounts are available to owners of property within Orange County, except in the city of Maitland or Winter Park. To obtain this card, apply in person with your current property tax receipt for the owned property within the Library District.
