Yarnfiti: Stitched Together Community Art Project
"It’s graffiti, but with yarn. Yarnfiti encourages creativity, teaches sewing skills at this Florida library." - courtesy of clickorlando.com
We're celebrating fiber arts on a galactic scale! Our community-created art installation Yarnfiti: Stitched Together is back and bigger than ever, with events offered throughout the Orange County Library Universe. The name is a combination of the words “yarn” and “graffiti” because the display is meant to be a colorful explosion of yarn in an unexpected place. Contributors may submit projects by attending associated classes but are also encouraged to submit works of their own creation. Submissions should fit with this year’s theme, “Space” and can be from any fiber art including crochet, macrame, weaving, sewing, embroidery, book arts, and more!
