National Library Week
April 19–25, 2026 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the valuable role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities.
How do you use your library?
Do you record and produce podcasts, download and listen to free music, take a class to learn a new language or sew your own clothes? Maybe your local branch is a third space to meet up with friends, engage with a book club or gather to watch a movie. This National Library Week, we celebrate the vast and varied resources Orange County Library System (OCLS) offers our cardholders – for free!
You Bee-long at the Library
Buzz into any OCLS location April 19–25 to get your limited-edition “You Bee-long at the Library” sticker.*
Sign up for a new library card and receive a prize pack* including WonderWorks tickets and a free treat from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice.

*while supplies last.
We deliver books, movies and more to your door!
Since 1974, OCLS has been delivering books right to cardholders’ homes. It’s easy – you can order materials by logging into your OCLS account from your mobile device or computer or ask a helpful team member at any local branch. This service has grown right along with our county and each month more than 30,000 of the familiar blue bags show up on doorsteps across Orange County!
Learn to drive a stick shift or land a plane
Venture into the world of The Melrose Center at Orlando Public Library and utilize our driver education simulator to practice driving a car in realistic situations. Aspiring pilots or curious hobbyists can learn to fly with our professional flight simulator using realistic flight controls and runways based on real airports!
Learn a new language or read and learn in your own
Deep dive into language learning using the popular app Mango with more than 70 languages available. Digital picture book collection LOTE4Kids brings children’s books to life in a world of languages, including sign languages. Cardholders starting their English learning journey have a wide variety of in-person and virtual classes to choose from for all ages and levels.
Study for a test
Through our LearningExpress Library, cardholders have free access to upskill resources: books, study guides and practice tests to prepare for professional exams. Study to become an EMT, a firefighter, a real estate broker or an air traffic controller. Prepare for nursing school entrance tests or military officer candidacy; OCLS online resources are ready when you are.
Check out something different
Why buy when you can borrow? The OCLS Library of Things is an expanding collection that allows cardholders to learn and grow by doing, seeing and making. From fiber arts kits with crochet and knitting supplies and blood pressure monitoring kits to citizen science kits and disc golf sets, OCLS is expanding offerings at every branch!
