Melrose Center offers variety of services

For the second summer in a row, the downtown library will be the site of a free music festival.

It got loud in the library (on purpose!) over the weekend when Orlandoans crowded into the downtown library to check out the second Melrose Pop Festival.

The library system offers free classes and resources to help improve communication.

“Growing up in Eatonville, it’s full of culture. Eatonville in and of itself is historic so there’s a lot of value in the community,” fifth-generation Eatonville native Ruthi Critton said.

Yarnfiti is an annual installation that includes knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and more.

The six-week series will get the youngest students ready for school in the fall.

The 2024 Orlando Book Festival is a day of events that includes panel discussions for both readers and writers, book readings and signings, and a keynote address from New York Times best-selling author, Tayari Jones.

The event offers a full day of author panels, talks, book signings, and writers’ workshops that are free to attend.
