Do students pay for classes?

While most technology classes presented at the library are free to O.C. cardholders (and Fee cardholders), we have begun to introduce classes that include a Materials Fee. The Materials Fee covers the cost of materials used in class, which students can typically take home.

Orange County District and Fee Cardholders
Most classes are free to O.C. district and fee cardholders. Users registering to attend a class that includes a Materials Fee will need to pay the fee to ‘officially’ complete registration. The Materials Fee varies by class.

Out-of-District User (with or without Melrose Card)
There is a $10 fee for in – person classes. In addition to the $10 in – person class fee, out-of-district users must pay the Materials Fee for the class. For example, to attend the Introduction to Basic Soldering class, an out-of-district user must cover the $10 in-person class fee and the $15 Materials Fee — total of $25
