Passport appointments can be made as far as four (4) weeks in advance, which is standard across Passport Acceptance Facilities. Appointments are currently offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The calendar will show as “unavailable” when all appointments for that day are filled.”
Step 1: Make an appointment online or by calling 407-835-7323.
Step 2: Complete the passport application (Form DS-11, Application for a U.S. Passport). Application must be in black ink only. DO NOT sign application until instructed to do so during the appointment. Applications will also be available onsite.
Step 3: Gather original citizenship and identification documents (original documents will be submitted with application to the State Department):
Proof of U.S. Citizenship
Bring one of the following items and a photocopy:
- Original Birth Certificate issued by the city, county, or state
- Previously issued, undamaged U.S. Passport*
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
- Naturalization Certificate* or Certificate of Citizenship*
Primary Identification
Bring one of the following items and a photocopy:
- Valid Driver’s License, if out-of-state, additional ID is required (copy of front and back)
- Previously issued, undamaged U.S. Passport
- Naturalization Certificate
- Current Military ID (military or dependents, copy of front and back)
- Government ID (city, state, or federal, copy of front and back)
Applicants Age 16 & 17: Parent or Legal Guardian can present Primary ID if minor applicant does not have one.
Applicants Under 16: Both parents listed on birth certificate/adoption papers/legal guardian court documents must be present. See Passports for Children Under 16 for more information.
* Also requires submission of Certified Birth Certificate if applicant is under 16 years of age.
Step 4: Get your passport photo.
- Passport Photo Services available onsite and can be completed during appointment. Fee = $10
OR - Bring in photograph that is 2″x 2″ color passport photo. See Passport Photos for requirements and photo examples.
Step 5: Bring your unsigned application form, documents, photo, and payment to your appointment. There are TWO separate types of payment required for each passport application: Department of State fee for the production cost and facility fee.
- Department of State fee for the production cost of the passport.
Acceptable forms of payment:- All passport fees paid to the “U.S. Department of State” must be in one of the following forms: checks (personal, certified, cashier’s, traveler’s) or money orders (U.S. postal, international, currency exchange).
In order to be acceptable, the payment must be:- Recently dated (less than 60 days old, post-dated checks are not acceptable)
- Made payable to the “U.S. Department of State”
- Have a written and numerical amount that agree
- Be drawn and signed in ink
- Be payable in U.S. currency through a U.S. financial institution
- Include the account and routing numbers with Magnetic Ink Character Recognition

- Passport Book – Allows any method of travel internationally to any country.
- Passport Card – Allows land and sea travel from U.S. to Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and Bermuda only.

- Orlando Public Library facility fee for the processing of the application.
Acceptable forms of payment: Fees payable must be by cash or credit/debit card only.- Cash or credit/debit card for $35 facility fee (Orlando Public Library).
Optional Fees
- Passport Expedite Fee – available for faster processing than routine service. The fee is an additional $60 per application made payable to the U.S. Department of State.
- One to Two Day Delivery Fee – $21.36 per application for 1-2 day delivery of an issued passport book from the Department of State to the customer. Only applies to mailing addresses within the United States. Not valid for passport cards. This fee made payable to the U.S. Department of State.
- File Search Fee – $150 (necessary when an applicant is unable to present evidence of U.S. Citizenship or previously issued U.S. Passport or Consular Report of Birth Abroad).
- Passport Photo Fee – $10 per photo to be made payable only by cash or credit/debit card to the Orlando Public Library.
Passport Processing Time

Need it Sooner?
The Library does not accept emergency passports that are needed in less than three weeks. If you plan on traveling in less than three weeks, you must go directly to the nearest passport agency. Please contact the Miami Passport Agency for more information.
Renewals
Library Passport Acceptance Facilities do not accept passport renewals. Most renewals can be done by mail. Please visit U.S. Department of State – Renew My Passport by Mail to see if you qualify to use the service.
Renew by mail using Form DS-82 if your most recent passport:
- is submitted with your application
- is undamaged (other than normal wear and tear)
- was issued when you were age 16 or older
- was issued within last 15 years
- was issued in your current name (or you can document your name change with an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order)
If any of the above statements do not apply to you, you must apply in person at the Orlando Public Library using Form DS-11.
