End of Summer Celebrations

Monday, July 20 – Saturday, July 25

After completing this year's reading challenge, the library wants to invite you to party at one of our End of Summer Celebrations hosted at all library locations! Enjoy a sweet treat and activities for ages 0-18, while supplies last.

Beginning July 1, youth ages 0-18 who have completed 30 days of participation on a paper reading tracker can come to any branch and pick up a goody bag (while supplies last).

Here's what to do:

  • Youth ages 0-18 work towards earning a goody bag by tracking their progress on their paper reading tracker for 30 days.
  • Once participants have completed the challenge, they can bring it to any library branch, and staff will give them a goody bag!

Only youth ages 0-18 are eligible to receive a goody bag. Only one goody bag per child while supplies last.

Encourage your child or teen to complete the Summer Reading Challenge for a chance to win an amazing prize! Youth ages 0-18 who log 30 days of participation by Sunday, July 26 at 6 p.m. can be entered into the prize drawing for each age group. Exciting prizes include electronics, art sets, science kits, and more!

Here's how to enter:

  • Log at least 30 days of participation by Sunday, July 26, 6 p.m.
  • The reader may visit their local branch and ask a library staff member to register them for the Grand Prize Drawing by presenting their library card and their completed paper reading tracker.
  • Complete the optional Bonus Challenge for an extra chance to win a grand prize!

Contest Rules

  • The tracker and optional bonus challenge must be fully filled out and turned in to library staff by July 26, 6 p.m., for entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. No reading trackers will be accepted after that time, but participants are welcome to submit their paper reading tracker beginning July 1, 2026.
  • Only participants ages 0-18 are eligible to enter. One grand prize and one bonus entry per person. Only Orange County resident, property owner, or fee cards are eligible to win. Reciprocal borrowers, OCLS Staff and family, including board members, are ineligible. Participants are eligible to win one grand prize by completing the 2026 Summer at Your Library Challenge by submitting a completed paper reading tracker to library staff by July 26, 2026, 6 p.m. Prizes will be drawn through a virtual raffle. Only winners will be contacted by email on or before August 5, 2026. For assistance, please contact youthservices@ocls.org.
