National Library Week: Celebrate Your Library All Year!

National Library Week

Thank you for coming along with me on this blog journey across Orange County Library System! Today may be the final day of National Library Week, but I hope you will celebrate your library all year long by taking advantage of the amazing events, services and programs offered at our 15 library locations. To wrap up this week, here are just a few upcoming events.

For families, the Southeast Branch has a STEAM-inspired event that explores kitchen science with a potato on April 19.

You can join the monthly knitting circle at Winter Garden Branch on April 20.

To celebrate Arab American Heritage Month, Washington Park Branch has a tatreez flower embroidery class and Alafaya Branch hosts an Aladdin-themed storytime, both on April 23.

Star Wars Astromech droid, R2-KN3, in the Melrose Center Fab Lab

Star Wars fans won’t want to miss the Melrose Center’s May the 4th celebration on the first Saturday in May. At the event, you can meet our own astromech droid, R2-KN3, experience the world of Star Wars in the VR game lab, make themed crafts and watch Star Wars Episodes 4, 5 and 6 on our giant LED screen.

And don’t forget to register for Summer at Your Library!
