There’s nothing that brings a library to life like the smiles we see on the faces of children and families who come to our live events. We haven’t been able to see those smiles in person in nearly a year and a half, as we’ve held nearly all of our events and programs online while we weather this pandemic.
Well, I have some fantastic news to share with you this month: For the first time since March 2020, some of our libraries will host a handful of live, in-person events that take place outdoors. Beginning with a performance on July 8, we’ll host Curbside Circus at our Winter Garden Branch. This free event features a performance from a professional acrobat who’ll bring high-flying antics, music and fun to our parking lots. Performers in this circus are the same ones you’ve seen at theme parks and local events, but now they’re bringing the fun to the library for a few special events to help us welcome you back!
Curbside Circus will perform at Winter Garden Branch on July 8, North Orange Branch on July 15, West Oaks Branch on July 21 and Southwest Branch on July 22. We’ll even host a special edition of the circus in Lake Nona in the Valencia College parking lot on July 28. All performances will begin at 10:30 a.m. It’s going to be great to see everyone in person again!
If you can’t make one of these special performances, that’s OK – we still have a slate of virtual programming covering everything from manatees to macramé. To find a program that’s right for you, just visit our website, click on Classes & Events and search by day of the week, category, age range or keyword.
We’ll have some more news and updates about in-person programming next month. In the meantime, follow us on social media or check our website for the most up-to-date information on library events and services.
