On May 17, 2024, the Friends of the Orange County Library System Inc. was awarded the Friends, Foundations and Special Projects Award at the 2024 Florida Library Association Annual Conference. In November 2023, we hosted a signature event, welcoming bestselling author Neil Gaiman and acclaimed cartoonist Art Spiegelman to the Dr. Phillips Center’s Steinmetz Hall for an insightful conversation covering the topics of cartooning and writing, friendship, identity, and more.
The event, which was sponsored by the Friends, swiftly sold-out highlighting our community’s interest and enthusiasm.
OCLS’s Marketing and Public Relations Graphics and Video/Photo team was recently honored by the HERMES Creative Awards – two Platinum, two Gold, and two Honorable Mentions. Achieving a Platinum award requires an exceptional score of 90-100, while Gold awards require a score of 80-89.
