#OCLSReads: 2022 Early Childhood Literacy Calendars

Early Childhood Literacy

Now available in English and Spanish! Our 2022 Early Learning Calendar includes twelve months of learning activities, book lists and nursery rhymes. One side has a calendar with a fun skills-building activity for every day of the month, and the other contains supplementary content like nursery rhymes, early literacy tips, song lyrics and suggested reading materials.

Scan the provided QR code to be taken to OCLS’s Kindergarten Readiness page for more tips and activities for all of your early learners. Many books on the list have been added as digital titles on Overdrive and Hoopla for your convenience.

The Public Library Association (PLA) designed this fun calendar to boost early childhood literacy programming in libraries, schools, and daycare centers. Based on the core practices of Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, PLA’s parent-education initiative, the calendar emphasizes activities involving reading, writing, singing, talking, playing, and counting.

*The Early Literacy Calendars are in the process of being revised. The Orlando Public Library System will update the monthly calendars on a continuous basis.
